As you don’t care, we are moving from Denver to the Seattle area. House is almost completed, target sale of late August.
We were all set to follow through when my wife hit a snag this week. She has to stay in Denver till December because of schooling so we are trying to work out logistics. I’m thinking that I’ll head up in September with the truck and camper. Find a place that’ll let me sit long term whilst house shopping. Her parents are leaving as well but don’t want to offload their Altima, so a good situation is she has a room to rent and their car to drive. Which leads me to what the hell do I do with muh Camero?
Part of me is thinking that I get up there with 3/4 of the pets. I find someone reputable to watch them over a weekend as I fly back and drive the car out. Another is maybe finding someone here that’ll drive the car out and I’ll fly them back. Or have her drive it back, but a Z28 with no nannies does not mix with Rocky Mountain winters and also what do with the Altima?
I could ship it but that’s expensive. What do, Oppo?

Gotta hook up with Zoidberg at some point- he might have useful advice about moving to what amounts to a rainforest.

Once you get to Seattle, beer! And Oppo meet!

I hooked up with the spacecrab when we went out scoping the area last year. Looking forward to more beers already

Beers are an inevitability when I am around ;)

In fact I have one in my hand right now, as I tap this out on the shitter

Drive Camero out early and store it somewhere for a week or two.

Unfortunately a week or two could easily turn into a month or better. Dunno how many places would like me doing that

Pretty relaxed place out there with lots of M$ oney floating around. Might find some guy a half hour out of town with a pole barn he stores cars and boats in with less trouble than you expect.

Denver to Seattle. Nibbles is a housing market masochist.

That does not sound sanitary.

I did say area :)
We’re looking at Gig Harbor/Olalla, which is incredibly reasonable compared to what we are leaving

D ump the Camaro, buy last gen Prius or maybe a Subie Outback and fit right in. Where abouts you ending up, or do you know yet? Best of luck with the move/ changes.
Denver is super nice, Seattle is even better. Denver has good beer, Seattle might be even better. The mountains in Colorado are spectacular - Rainier and St Helens are even more so.

Moving to Seattle to own the COs
What a madman

In this scenario , I’d be tempted to drive the Came ro up there first to get lay for the land and a place lined up for the truck and camper, then stick the Came ro in a 10x20 or 10x30 storage unit for a week or two (or leave it in long-term parking at the airport), fly back to Denver and then drive the truck and camper to their new home. Once the truck and camper are there, reuniting everything is only an U ber or ride from a friend away.

Getout.gif with that Prius bullshit
Yeah nah yeah we’re looking at Gig Harbor primarily. I know my loud ratty V8 will fit right in :)
I don’t however feel ya on the beer or the mountains; the Rockies are more majestic by virtue of count, and Colorado beer is best beer. Fight me

Moving to Seattle because my wife, a lifelong Denver resident, is allergic to the sun and the elevation exacerbates her other health issues
That and I’m getting a gof damn sailboat

I don’t want to say sell it and just find another one over here... But just sell it and find another one over here.

No. I’m not going to find this kit for this price ever again, ever
I love my Camaro like a certain crab loves his longbed

S top in at Three Magnets Brewery (not that far from Gig Harbor - just over the bridge,) and get back to me. :) Good to have you out here.

I ain’t gon lie, part of the reason we’re heading that way is so I can have all the beers that don’t get shipped out here. I’ve had about every CO beer that is worth having (and many that aren’t), looking forward to some new brews

Ok I may be coming around to the idea

What’s the timeline here exactly ? I live up in Bellingham and have a two car garage but only one car at the moment. That could change by August but I don’t mind parking my truck outside for a few weeks, I do it anyway if it’s hot(as it tends to be in August) to avoid bringing a hot grey truck into the garage right underneath my un-air conditioned living space.
Might be pointless because a lot of the time those storage units are free for the first month because they assume people will put their shit in and never take it back out but depending on when/how long exactly I probably don’t mind you sticking it in my garage .
Couldn ’t help with the pets though, I’d be willing to sneak it past my landlord but I’m frequently gone for 12 hours a day, 9 or 10 at a minimum on weekdays.

The timeline is definitely flexible. I won’t be out until September at least; we have Highlands Festival (family reunion type thing, we go every year) and my bud bought me a ticket to GABF that I will NOT turn down. That puts my exitrance at the end of September, likely leave on the 28th and get into Seattle on the 30th
Then begins phase two, I have to find a house. How long the Camaro sits depends on how quickly we purchase. I keep a solid eye on what’s available in our target area and already have a dozen things to look for/at/etc so happy path is I find that perfect home within two weeks and get the ball rolling. Still, buying a house can be a time consuming process
As for the pets, I may have an out on that. My little brother is an animal caretaker down in Portland, I may see if I can entice him to come up and sit with them for a weekend

Well, if you need a spot to put a car for awhile I have room for 4 off-street including the driveway 1-2 hours north of Seattle(basically if I’m driving south it’s an hour to the start of traffic and two hours to clear the city worst-case with traffic) and certainly won’t have more than two vehicles by then.
